Parks & Beaches

Qualicum Beach offers a harmonious blend of natural beauty and recreational activities throughout its many parks and beaches.

Qualicum Beach Parks

With 280 hectares of Town-owned parks and greenspace, and 14 kilometres of maintained trails, the Town offers a variety of outdoor recreational opportunities.

Community Park

The Qualicum Beach Community Park offers activities for all ages, including playgrounds, a skatepark, BMX Track, off-leash dog parks, and playing fields for various sports. The Community Park provides an area of approximately 8700 sq meters, with 14 km of walking trails, including multiple off-leash trails.

Saahtlam Park

The property is approximately 9,800m2 (2.4 acres), has over 70m of waterfront and is in a key location at Buller Road and Highway 19A. The park is now named Saahtlam, which refers to “the green at the mouth of the river”, a name gifted by the Qualicum First Nation.

This Park is still in the Town planning process, with much community consultation taking place to ensure the area remains true to the community’s vision. Visit Saahtlam Park for project details.

Seaside Nature Park

The Seaside Nature Park is at the waterfront’s west end. A covered pavilion with 180-degree viewpoint offers an elevated platform for birdwatchers and photographers, as well as interpretive signage of native plants.

The Park is a tribute to the late Faye Smith Rosenblatt, noted Oceanside Environmental Champion and Wild Salmon Advocate. Volunteers from Qualicum Beach Streamkeepers, Arrowsmith Naturalists and others made this project a reality.

Heritage Forest

Cherished by locals and visitors alike, the Heritage Forest and its trails through ancient Douglas firs are one of many quiet enjoyment opportunities in Qualicum Beach.

Walking and Cycling

The Town features many age-friendly walking and cycling trails for your next outdoor adventure.

Qualicum Beaches

Qualicum Beach offers over four kilometers of picturesque, curving sandy beaches. During high tide, sightseers, bikers, hikers and their dogs use the paved promenade to stay dry.

The promenade is equipped with picnic tables, shade trees and ample parking.

Centrally located along the waterfront is a concession, a public boat ramp, public washrooms and mobile food and recreational vendors.

The recently renovated viewing platform at the Memorial Roundabout provides a panoramic view of the strait of Georgia and surrounding natural habitat.
